Cherry Brunch Bars

1 c. butter, softened
3 c. flour
1¾ c. sugar
¼ tsp. salt
4 eggs
1½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla and all dry ingredients and mix well. Spread 2/3 of batter onto greased 11”x7” pan. Spread pie filling on top of batter. Drop remaining batter by Tbsp. full randomly on top of pie filling. Bake at 350º for 30-40 minutes. When slightly cooled, drizzle with thin powder sugar icing.
