Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

2/3 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
½ c. butter, softened
½ c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
2 eggs
3 c. old-fashioned or quick oats
1 c. flour
1 c. raisins or chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375º F. In a large bowl, beat all ingredients except oats, flour and raisins with electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in oats, flour and raisins. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack to avoid over baking. Yields about 3 dozen. (Betty Crocker)
